FIT4MOM for Equity: Toys for Tots

In our pursuit of engaging with and supporting our local community, we are creating a monthly spotlight on our blog and social media called "FIT4MOM for Equity". We will be highlighting area businesses, organizations, and programs who are working to bring equity to everyone living in the Grand Rapids area.

Toys for Tots

Created in 1991, the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve has committed the last thirty years to supporting the Toys for Tots program. Toys for Tots is a national program that strives to "provide a tangible sign of hope to economically disadvantaged children at Christmas". In our local Kent County community, toys are distributed to around 10,000 children each Christmas season and this year's registration numbers thus far are projecting record-breaking registrations. In addition to higher than average requests, donations (toy & financial) are lower than usual.

This is where we come in to help! We are so lucky to have this FIT4MOM Grand Rapids community and want to make sure we are cultivating and encouraging a community of generosity. Toys for Tots has so many convenient drop off locations, including all Kent District Library branches, as well as an online financial donation option.

Thank you, Toys for Tots, for pursuing equity for our neighbors. You are making such a beautiful difference in our city and the lives of those around you!
