Meet Our Village Monday: Stephanie

Welcome to the first Monday of November! Should I also add that Thanksgiving is in seventeen days, Christmas is seven weeks from today, and 2018 begins eight weeks from today? You know...just giving you an idea of how FAST time flies!! ANYWAY, the holiday season is not the point of this post (but maybe there will be a holiday post coming....?). The point of this post is....Meet Our Village Monday!! I'm super excited to be featuring Stephanie Noordyke and can't wait for you all to learn more about this awesome mama. Enjoy!

How long have you been with FIT4MOM?

I joined FIT4MOM Chicago in October 2012, and joined in GR in fall of 2016.

In what way(s) have you participated in FIT4MOM (Fit4Baby, Stroller Strides, Stroller Barre, BodyBack)?

I've done it all!

Tell us about your family.

My husband, Matt, and I met at Michigan State as freshmen. We’ve been together for 15 years, and married for 10! We have 2 amazing daughters-- Madilynn is 5 and Annabelle is 2. They are opposites in every way but they are great friends. :) We moved to Grand Rapids (where my husband and I both grew up) from Chicago last fall. We also just recently discovered we are expecting a very surprising 3rd baby next spring!

What is one thing you love about Stroller Strides/Stroller Barre/Fit4Baby/BodyBack?

The thing I love most about these classes is that everyone is going through the same season of life. It doesn’t matter if I forget to shave my armpits or my kid cries all through class; everyone gets it! No one cares, and they’ve been there too.

Favorite exercise?

Anything but high knees!

Favorite food?

We eat a lot of tacos in our house.

What are some things you like to do outside of exercising and being a mom?

My guilty pleasure is online shopping! I also love being with my girl friends, trying new restaurants, and attempting to decorate our home.

What do you do for work or what did you do before baby?

Before my kids were born, I was a preschool teacher.

Have you played any sports in the past or what sport would you like to learn?

I was a cheerleader in high school. I always say I want to learn how to golf, too.

What is a piece of advice you can pass on to fellow moms?

Find your village and love them hard! Being a mom can be so lonely, and FIT4MOM was my saving grace when my first daughter was born. Even though it took me a long time to make real friends (because I’m shy!), it was a reason to get out of the house every day and do something healthy for myself.

Thank you so much for being part of our community, Stephanie! We appreciate you so much!
