Meet Our Village Monday: Meghan

It's Monday! Admittedly, Mondays are not my favorite day of the week but reading something fun and encouraging is always a great way to add some light to the beginning of my week. I hope these posts are a fun way to start the week and that you are enjoying learning more about our members via Meet Our Village Mondays!

Today I have the pleasure of featuring Meghan Holt. Enjoy!

How long have you been with FIT4MOM?

I have been with FIT4MOM for 5 months. My friend invited me to the birthday party and I joined after that.

In what way(s) have you participated in FIT4MOM (Fit4Baby, Stroller Strides, Stroller Barre, BodyBack)?

I have participated in Strides and Barre.

Tell us about your family.

My husband Kevin and I have been together for 10 years. We got married two years ago and had our son Kevin (known as KJ) in March. We love going on adventures as a family and staying active. We enjoy backpacking, camping, rock climbing, paddle boarding and boating. We are huge foodies and are suckers for a good taco and margarita.

What is one thing you love about Stroller Strides/Stroller Barre/Fit4Baby/BodyBack?

I love Barre because I can really feel that I'm getting an amazing workout. It's low impact but when your entire body is shaking you know you're working hard. Thanks to Amanda, I'm always sore the next day.

Favorite exercise?

My favorite exercise is hiking. It's the one time my brain shuts down and I feel truly relaxed.

Favorite food?

My favorite food is candy. I have a huge sweet tooth!

What are some things you like to do outside of exercising and being a mom?

Outside of being a mom and exercising, I love to watch horrible reality tv with a glass of wine and a good snack. I could also wander around IKEA for hours.

What do you do for work or what did you do before baby?

I stay home with KJ but I went to school to be an elementary teacher with an emphasis in integrated science.

Have you played any sports in the past or what sport would you like to learn?

I played sports all through high school. Soccer was my main sport but I also played tennis and volleyball.

What is a piece of advice you can pass on to fellow moms?

The one bit of advice I would give to fellow moms is to not worry about what others think of you and know you're doing your best. It's really hard to do, especially when we're always looking at everyone else's "highlight reels" on social media and comparing it to our own lives. I've found a lot of strength by putting those comparisons aside and I think it has made me a better mom.
