Meet Our Village Monday: Katie

Welcome to our FINAL Meet Our Village Monday of not only December (Christmas is next Monday!) but of 2017!! What?? Anyone else trying to figure out how time can fly by so quickly??? I'm excited to see what adventures FIT4MOM Grand Rapids has in the new year!

To round out our year, I'm excited to be featuring Katie Raymond today. Hope you all enjoy learning more about her today!

How long have you been with FIT4MOM?

Since July 2017

In what way(s) have you participated in FIT4MOM (Fit4Baby, Stroller Strides, Stroller Barre, BodyBack)?

Just Stroller Strides so far

Tell us about your family.

My husband Zach and I are high school sweethearts from Virginia. We moved here this summer from the DC area with our 16mo daughter, Josie, and our dog Duncan. We were so excited to get out of the city and into the Midwest - closer to my family in Green Bay, WI. We love it so far and we are really looking forward to building a life here.

What is one thing you love about Stroller Strides/Stroller Barre/Fit4Baby/BodyBack?

I love how friendly and welcoming everyone is! We moved here not knowing hardly a soul and it's been great to make friends and work on my fitness at the same time.

Favorite exercise?

My favorite exercise in the world is spinning - I love a good spin class!

Favorite food?

I grew up in Japan, so sushi and tonkatsu are my favorites.

What are some things you like to do outside of exercising and being a mom?

I love to write, and I dabble in photography. I also really like home decorating and cheering on the Virginia Tech Hokies in all sports!

What do you do for work or what did you do before baby?

I was a financial analyst for the FBI for 4 years up until I had Josie.

Have you played any sports in the past or what sport would you like to learn?

I played soccer for a long time but to be honest, I wasn't very good... I think I'd be better at basketball because of my height!

What is a piece of advice you can pass on to fellow moms?

Sort of fitness related: no matter where you are in your fitness journey, never pass up the opportunity to be in pictures with your kiddos. It's hard when you don't feel like yourself or haven't reach certain goals but in 20 years you aren't going to care - you'll want to have photos of memories with you in them.
