Meet Our Village Monday: Emily

How long have you been with FIT4MOM?

Since May 2017.

In what way(s) have you participated in FIT4MOM (Fit4Baby, Stroller Strides, Stroller Barre, BodyBack)?

Stroller Strides!

Tell us about your family.

My husband and I met at a job interview (he was interviewing me), I got the job but turned it down. He emailed me a couple months later asking me out and I reluctantly said yes. Seven months later we were engaged, a year after that we were married and 11 months later welcomed our baby.

What is one thing you love about Stroller Strides/Stroller Barre/Fit4Baby/BodyBack?

I love how accepting everyone is, I was hesitant at first as I didn't know anyone. I also love that it gets my daughter and me out of the house and doing something productive!

Favorite exercise?

Any cardio.

Favorite food?

Everything!!! If I would have to pick it would be ice cream but depends on the day.

What are some things you like to do outside of exercising and being a mom?

Binge watching Netflix. Any alone time is spent relaxing and doing nothing.

What do you do for work or what did you do before baby?

I was a Behavioral Analyst which means I did therapy with children with autism.

Have you played any sports in the past or what sport would you like to learn?

In high school I cheered!

What is a piece of advice you can pass on to fellow moms?

Don't be too hard on yourself! Being a mom is hard work and so much pressure is put on us. Cut yourself a break and relax!
