#WCW: Megan

We are excited to be highlighting moms from Our Village for #WCW (Woman Crush Wednesday)! This is a way to get to know each other a little more and appreciate the women behind the sweaty faces :) Today we celebrate a long time member of Our Village - Megan Barnum!

How long have you been with FIT4MOM?

I have been actively involved since Spring 2012. Joining has been one of the best things I have done as a mom!

In what way(s) have you participated in FIT4MOM (Fit4Baby, Stroller Strides, BodyBack)?

I have been an active Stroller Strider for 4 years! During these years, I have also had the privilege of planning and organizing the fun events for Our Village, our moms group associated with FIT4MOM.

Tell us about your family.

My very supportive husband, Beau, and I have three fun kids. Andrew is 8, Jayce is 5, and Carley will be 3 in June. We love spending time together and exploring new places.

What is one thing you love about Stroller Strides/Fit4Baby/BodyBack?

I love OurVillage. We have such an awesome group of fun loving women that genuinely care for one another and help each other succeed! We are truly blessed!!

Favorite exercise?

...Burpees ... It's a love-hate relationship. I've been called crazy before. :)

Favorite food?

I love my mom's spaghetti and meatball recipe. :)

What are some things you like to do outside of exercising and being a mom?

I enjoy cooking with fresh foods, making healthy, yet simple DIY products using my essential oils, and spending time with my friends.

What do you do for work or what did you do before baby?

Before I chose to stay at home with my kids, I had the privilege of teaching young children. I loved being a classroom teacher and am blessed to be able to volunteer my time at my children's schools now.

If you could have one super power what would you have?

Teleportation-- I'd be able to do so much more with my time!

What is a piece of advice you can pass on to fellow moms?

It's much easier said than done, but find a few minutes in the day for yourself. When I first became a mom, I struggled with feeling that I needed to do it all and didn't make time for myself. Being a mom is the greatest gift I have ever been blessed, but my goodness, it is SO hard! It's so important to take care of yourself and recharge so that you can be a better wife and mother for your family. I feel amazing after my Stroller Stride workout and am so thankful I found this wonderful community to help me be the best mom I can be for my family!

Our Village greatly appreciates everything that Megan has done. She is an amazing person and an even more amazing mom!
