Monday, Monday, Monday. It's now the highlight of your week, right?? I hope that you have been enjoying getting to know more members of our community! I know that I certainly have. Case in point: today's feature about the wonderful Lena McDonough! I learned some new things about Lena and her family, such as the fact that Lena is rarely in want for fresh flowers. :-) Enjoy!
How long have you been with FIT4MOM?
About 2.5 years (started when Mollie was 6 weeks old)
In what way(s) have you participated in FIT4MOM (Fit4Baby, Stroller Strides, BodyBack)?
Monday's are my only day off of work- so I try to make it to SS on that day. Wish I could do more!
Tell us about your family.
My husband, John, and I met while living in Chicago. I am originally from Ky, and he is from Michigan. When we got pregnant with Mollie we decided Michigan would be a better place to raise her. John is a Michigan boy through and through. ;-) He went to Michigan State for horticulture and works for the largest rose company in the world! I went to Ball State (in Indiana) and I work for an organic skincare company. And Mollie (2.5 years old), she is the heart of our family.
What is one thing you love about Stroller Strides/Fit4Baby/BodyBack?
I love a lot. I especially love the support from other mothers. Being a new mom, I had a lot of questions.
Planks- feel the burn!
Cheese and wine.
What are some things you like to do outside of exercising and being a mom?
Good question. Haha! I'd say getting together with friends and enjoying good food and wine. I want to get back into music. I miss singing in choirs and playing cello. Someday!
What do you do for work or what did you do before baby?
I am a cosmetic and skincare Midwest account executive.
Have you played any sports in the past or what sport would you like to learn?
I played soccer in school. Beach volleyball for fun in Chicago.
What is a piece of advice you can pass on to fellow moms?
Just keep being awesome! You are a mom. It is hard. But it is the best gift in the world.
So thankful that you are part of our community, Lena!
