Welcome to our last August installment of Meet Our Village Monday! I can't even believe it... I really do feel like the month of August ends the day after it begins. On a positive note, we get to end this month learning about the fantastic Annie Bosch! Annie joined after we added classes to the southern part of Grand Rapids, a location I don't get to very often due to living on the northern end of town. After being part of this group for almost 4.5 years, it's been a little strange to have a whole new group of moms that I don't know very well! That makes Meet Our Village Monday even more special for me---it allows me to get to know moms in our group that I don't see very often. Hope you all are enjoying these features as much as I am! :-)
And now, without further ado, Annie!
How long have you been with FIT4MOM?
In what way(s) have you participated in FIT4MOM (Fit4Baby, Stroller Strides, BodyBack)?
Tell us about your family.
My husband and I live in Jamestown with our (almost) 5 month-er Boden. We have a goldendoodle named Eugene and we love to take walks as a family (when we have the time)! We have a pool and it's been very fun to get out and enjoy it this HOT summer. In the fall you will find us watching LOTS of football and cheering on the Lions and U of M.
What is one thing you love about Stroller Strides/Fit4Baby/BodyBack?
Boden wasn't a big fan of being strapped in the stroller so sometimes he'd get fussy and cry. It's so nice to be with other moms who get it and it didn't bother them at all-and bonus-many even offer encouragement! Totally judgement free workout! It also challenges me to be my best with different levels of intensity.
In pre baby world-I loved running! Now I'm more of a walker haha!
Any sort of ice cream!
What are some things you like to do outside of exercising and being a mom?
I'm finally getting back into that part of my life! I love to read and shop.
What do you do for work or what did you do before baby?
I am a PreK teacher in Grand Rapids Public.
Have you played any sports in the past or what sport would you like to learn?
I played basketball in high school. I've done more running than anything though, I ran a half marathon in 2013.
What is a piece of advice you can pass on to fellow moms?
Being a new mom I'm not sure how much advice I have to offer because I feel like I'm learning how to be a mom everyday! I would say sometimes when you're just "surviving" that's ok because every phase your life gets easier the more you live it! Eventually surviving turns to thriving and that's a pretty great feeling!
Annie, you may "only" be a few months into motherhood but your advice is spot on! "Eventually surviving turn to thriving"--love that line! Thank you so much for being part of our community and I'm looking forward to getting to know you even more!
