Another new week! I hope you all had a great weekend and are ready to start the week the best way possible: by reading the latest Meet Our Village Monday, of course! Today we are excited to feature the amazing Stephanie Smith. I know I say this all of the time, but I really enjoy learning new facts and tidbits about everyone. I hope you do, too! :-)
How long have you been with FIT4MOM?
Almost 2 years
In what way(s) have you participated in FIT4MOM (Fit4Baby, Stroller Strides, BodyBack)?
Stroller Strides and BodyBack
Tell us about your family.
I have been married to my husband, Greg, for seven years. He's a physical therapist and loves to make everyone laugh. Our daughter, Bryn Lee, turned two in May. She's a sweetie mixed with a little sass 😉. We have a seven month old son named Brooks (I'll do the math for you--they're 18 months apart!) He is the smiliest baby around.
What is one thing you love about Stroller Strides/Fit4Baby/BodyBack?
I love community it builds and being motivated by others to be my best self.
Plank (the regular kind, because side planks are definitely my least favorite!)
Toss up between Mac and cheese and pizza...I've loved toddler food long before I even had a toddler 😂
What are some things you like to do outside of exercising and being a mom?
Spending time with friends and family, going to the beach, and enjoying the outdoors in Traverse City.
What do you do for work or what did you do before baby?
I am a part time school counselor at a K-4 elementary school in Forest Hills. I also work for Beautycounter as an independent consultant.
Have you played any sports in the past or what sport would you like to learn?
Soccer and gymnastics---I'd like to learn to play tennis
What is a piece of advice you can pass on to fellow moms?
It's advice that I regularly have to remind myself...don't compare yourself to other moms. Comparison can either bring you down or fill you with unnecessary pride...both can be hurtful. Trust yourself and your mom friends that we are all doing our best to be the best moms we can be!
Love your wonderful advice! Thank you for being part of our commmunity, Stephanie! (And I have to say, we are kindred spirits because I don't like side planks, either, AND I have always loved mac & cheese and chicken nuggets. :-) )
