How is it already the last Monday of July?!? We're finishing out this month featuring the hilarious Katrina Cullison! I have loved participating in both Stroller Strides and Body Back Boost with Katrina. She always brings equal parts awesome work ethic and a sense of humor to Body Back work outs! :-) Enjoy learning a bit more about her today!
How long have you been with FIT4MOM?
A year in September.
In what way(s) have you participated in FIT4MOM (Fit4Baby, Stroller Strides, BodyBack)?
Stroller Strides and BodyBack
Tell us about your family.
My husband Adam and I have been married eight years. We have two awesome kids, Audrey who is three and a half and Oliver who just turned one. We also have a dog named Iggy and two cats, Marzipan and Uhla (Oola). Oh, and a fish named Freddy. It's a packed house.
What is one thing you love about Stroller Strides/Fit4Baby/BodyBack?
Only one thing? I love the feeling of community. Everyone is always friendly and encouraging. If one of my kids is freaking out in the stroller during Stroller Strides, someone is always there to offer a toy for them to borrow or make funny faces at them. The instructors encourage us to push ourselves and set goals and they want to help us achieve those goals. It's just so motivating.
Cinnamon rolls. Truth.
What are some things you like to do outside of exercising and being a mom?
Me and my husband love to try new restaurants and see live music. We also like to travel when we can, be it a trip to England to see family or a minivan road trip.
What do you do for work or what did you do before baby?
I'm currently a stay at home mom but before I had my daughter I worked for the East Bay SPCA in Oakland, California as a Veterinary assistant.
Have you played any sports in the past or what sport would you like to learn?
I played Basketball and Volleyball through middle school and beginning of high school. I know how to play softball but I would love to join a softball team when I have more time.
What is a piece of advice you can pass on to fellow moms?
Do what works for you. All moms do things differently and that can get distracting especially if you're a first time mom. But life seems to run smoother when you do what works best for you and your family.
We appreciate you so much, Katrina, and are so happy that you are part of our community!
