Woo hoo! Meet Our Village Monday is here again! Today I am looking forward to you all learning more about Alisa Pearson! And can we all agree that Alisa's family picture is the most genuine, awesome, real life family picture ever? :-) I smile each time I look at it! Enjoy!
How long have you been with FIT4MOM?
I started attending stroller strides in January 2014 when Cole was 6 months old.
In what way(s) have you participated in FIT4MOM (Fit4Baby, Stroller Strides, BodyBack)?
Stroller Strides and drop-in Body Back classes.
Tell us about your family.
My husband Eric and I have two boys (Cole, almost 3 and James, 1) and a bulldog named Bentley. Eric runs a family business and owns a cold brew coffee company and I am taking break from my accounting career to stay home with the boys.
What is one thing you love about Stroller Strides/Fit4Baby/BodyBack?
I was drawn to stroller strides because I loved the idea that I could take my baby with me to work out so that I can involve him in something I love to do. The workouts are great and helped my body recover from having two babies, but really the thing I love the most about it is the great group of women I met that I now call my friends. Moving to Grand Rapids and hardly knowing anyone was difficult enough and add being a new mom on top of that and I was struggling! I remember attending my first class and not only did no one care that my colicky baby was crying half the time but I had people offering to hold him or let me borrow their ring sling! I am so thankful for our village; for all of the help, advice, fun mom's nights out and activities with the kiddos!
Gahh! Probably push ups 😊
Pasta, any kind of pasta!
What are some things you like to do outside of exercising and being a mom?
I love to travel, spend time with friends and eat anything I don't have to cook!
What do you do for work or what did you do before baby?
After leaving public accounting I worked at a real estate development company managing the Planning & Forecasting Group.
Have you played any sports in the past or what sport would you like to learn?
Sports aren't really my thing 😉 I would like to learn to play tennis or golf!
What is a piece of advice you can pass on to fellow moms?
Do your thing! It's nice to get ideas from other moms but try not to focus on what everyone else is doing- do what works for you! And make sure to have some "me" time. It is so important to take some time for yourself and for your relationship with your significant other.
Thank you for being part of our village, Alisa! We are so appreciative of the humor and positive energy that you bring to our wonderful community of moms!
